Just a little work and someday it may make the radio. To long, to slow, and the wrong mix.

This piece is dedicated to my mother, Sue Holland Moore A Mother's Love
If I could gather the sands of time - to a day that's long since past
When a world was made and Mother's love - only one is sure to last
A love that's kind and caring - that's there in right or wrong
That's walked life's darkest roads with you - whose faith is oh - so strong
A love that's pure and faithful - virtues seldom cast
A love that gives unselfishly - to all of those who ask
Respect and admiration - forgiveness - honesty
If I could only find the words - for what you mean to me
Like the sparkle in a child's eye - like moonbeams up above
A love that glows and glistens - like the beauty of a dove !
At times when life was gray and cold - too much for me to bear
A Mother who would stop and help - who took the time to care
The mornings that you woke and prayed - the sacrifice and tears
For the joy that only Mother brings - that's lasted through the years
You've taught me how to live this life - of things that matter most
A gracious gift from Jesus - lest any man should boast
I cannot buy what you deserve - there's simply not a price
You've been the great example - things proper - neat - and nice
And I have watched a Mother cry - who lost the ones so dear
Loved ones not so far away - she seems to feel so near
What I could ever hope to be - what I could ever do
There'll always be an unpaid debt - forever owed to you
Like a lighthouse in the harbor - that leads a lost one home
A faithful love that's always there - I've never felt alone !
If my dreams could dance before me - and my visions will come true
There'll be a very special place - waiting just for you
And when that Mighty Trumpet sounds - and Jesus calls you home
Two Angels will escort you - familiar ones you've known
Beside a quiet river - with reflections from the past
Of all the many good times shared - and memories to last
How God has turned to crystal - every tear you've ever cried
And paved the pathway to his throne - to sit at Jesus' side
And trees will line that river - on every leaf a prayer
Ones you thought forgotten - that Christ says will be shared
They'll seat you with the ones you love - sing praises to the one
Who's fought life's hardest battles - endured life's greatest wrongs
May your works be bound in Heaven - for all the Saints to see
Burdens that you've carried - for others and for me
If I could only stop this world - to look at what you've done
The things that went unnoticed - the trials you've overcome
Oh - Mother how we love you - the Lord has made it so
You're the closest thing to Jesus - this world will ever know
I wish you joy and happiness - on each day left to live
Feelings very special - that Christ can only give
And Lord please leave a little light - on your path walked long ago
For a Mother who is worthy - to walk that afterglow
And Lord; - I know why on that final day - you rested, and were glad
The last thing made was Mother's Love - it must have taken all you had !
If I could gather the sands of time - to a day that's long since past
When a world was made and Mother's love - only one is sure to last

Son Let Me Tell You Bout Our Flag
It doesn't seem that long ago when I was back in high school during the days of the military draft lottery; when the luck of the draw determined your fate for being called up for military service. My number was never called, but many of my friends were. We went on about our lives much as we do today without giving a whole lot of thought to what our military service men and women go through serving their country. I can't imagine how I would have felt back then if someone would have put a gun in my hands and ordered me to go kill people; regardless of the cause, and the sights I would have seen that would have lived with me for the rest of my life.
I was thinking of writing a military tribute that captured the sacrifices our service men and women make for our country when my uncle died. I attended his funeral and witnessed a Military Flag Presentation to my aunt for his service in the military, an incredibly moving moment. My mother's second husband was an Army Sergeant in the military that was part of the World War II invasion. He told me one night that he had little feeling in his toes from the freezing temperatures and snow that he had to go through during the War. He didn't want to talk about it much; I guess because it brought back bad memories. He said they came into one town and looked up at the Church steeple and there was a soldier who had parachuted in and was pierced through by the steeple. He said he went deer hunting once when he returned from the service. He said he saw a nice buck through his scope and was about to pull the trigger when it turned into a man. He never went hunting again and said he never wanted to live in cold weather. Just one example of a soldier returning from War with scars that could not be seen on his physical body. And then there's Pat Tillman, who leaves a lucrative career in N.F.L. football to serve his country after 911 and is killed by friendly fire. We don't always know the why's of this world and the things certain people have to go through. I guess we can only say it's for God's purposes. I apologize if my video is too sad and emotional for some, but the sacrifice is very real. As you have served us, we hope you'll give us the opportunity to serve you.
